A Timeline of the Story

There always seems to be a catch with me. When I say "brief summary", I really just mean "summary". When I say "timeline", I guess I mean "timefigure".

So here's how this works:

Before Coera, we have an epoch inhabited only by gods/minds. Energy, then matter appear toward the end of this epoch. Time isn't linear so much as radial - it emits unevenly from the point at which Mehr first created the Pentiad. Before the Pentiad, the concept of time existed within Mehr but time itself would have been more coagulatory than anything else.

When Coera was created and bounded off, she entered "circular time". That's not to say that any particular event or period repeated over and over again, but the ages did repeat the same theme and cycles, just like each year is distinct, but repeats Spring, Summer, Winter, Autumn, the soltices, day and night, and so on. It might be better to describe this as a spiral than a circle, but spirals were wickedly difficult to create in Photoshop! Each of Coera's ages is defined by the infiltration of Baod or Lil, their ascendency and spreading influence, their (temporary) destruction, and the reshaping of Coera's face.

For example, the final banishment of Lil in the Age of the Patriarchs is followed by a curse of ravaging beasts, which overturn mountains, turn cities to mass graves, bring oceans into the plains, and generally reset Coera. Some pure - those untainted by Lil's influence - are shepherded through the tribulations in order to re-establish Mankind in the new Age. In the Age of the Towers, Man redevelops society, technology, and magic, and reestablishes diplomacy with the relic races passed over by destruction (the Elves, Prikies, and Delvers). Eventually Eve regains power and finds a way back into Coera, where she discovers some few followers who have also managed to survive and builds a new army of acolytes. Over a long period of time, using a new disguise and new methods, she manages to ascend to power. Eva sends sons to push her back or destroy her, and finally one succeeds. Coera's face is reshaped by meteors, and some pure are protected so they can redevelop society, technology, and magic in the Golden Age.

The Circular time of Coera is a cage, one which Mankind can only spring when prepared to deal with what lies beyond the Boundary. Circular time is finished when the Apocalypse of the Angels is brought to a close, when they are undone by Tal, who uses the Keys of Adam to unlock the gate.

Beyond Circular time, a new radial point in time extends from Coera into the coagulatory time outside; this new time is marked by the significant events of the final and complete destruction of Lil by Tuk, and by the end of Baod's war some time thereafter.
